Daniel Black, FNP-C
Daniel Black, FNP-C Advanced Practice Registered Nurse | Family Nurse Practitioner-Certified Co-Owner, Optima Tyler | Tyler, Texas
Daniel Black is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Family Nurse Practitioner-Certified (FNP-C), nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). He is co-owner of Optima Tyler, a locally owned medical clinic in Tyler, Texas, providing medically managed weight loss, hormone therapy, and health optimization to patients across the state.
Dan grew up in West Texas, spent his formative years in Central Texas, and put down roots in East Texas — where he married his wife among the tall pines. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2009 and his Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in 2018. His patients work with him directly from the first consultation through every follow-up — no call centers, no rotating staff, no app standing between a patient and their provider.
Clinical philosophy: Most patients who struggle with weight or hormonal health have already tried to fix it on their own. Dan's approach starts by acknowledging that — and then building a plan grounded in the actual science, with transparent expectations about what the therapy does, what it costs, and what realistic results look like. Candor is the first step toward trust, and trust is what makes treatment work.
Optima Tyler is LegitScript certified, meeting rigorous standards for legal compliance, transparent pricing, and responsible prescribing — verified by an independent third party.
Outside the clinic, Dan is a climber, boulderer, and carpenter who takes his Peloton seriously and his brisket with even more conviction. He and his wife have three daughters and a perpetually unfinished list of remodeling projects.
